Closing this Group: New Adobe Group for Adobe Devs!
Entry posted on Mar 06 by Peter Robertson , tagged News,Development

We are changing the User Groups for Adobe developers in Melbourne.
This Adobe Group will not be updated in the future.
The ColdFusion and Flex user groups are being merged into one new group called MAD (Melbourne Adobe Developers).
If you've been getting your notifications about the CFUG from this group, please subscribe to:
       http://mad.groups.adobe.com
MAD will be the venue for all those in the Melbourne area wishing to participate in monthly meetings for the benefit of Flex and ColdFusion developers.  (Flash Pro / AS developers VERY welcome!)
Notices of meetings will be posted both at http://mad.groups.adobe.com and at groups.google.com/group/cfaussie.
Please do contribute your ideas for meeting content and as always we'll be seeking volunteers to provide presentations.  We'll be announcing our plans for the new format along with details of our next meeting shortly.
Many thanks

CFUG Melbourne August 2010: New features in Adobe ColdFusion Server 9 by Steve Onnis
Entry posted on Aug 19 by Peter Robertson , tagged Event,Development

Steve took us through some of the highlights of CF9 and gave good insights into how powerful and simple some of the new features are.  Stand-outs for me included how CFScript has been extended and script syntax for declaring and populating structures and arrays has been simplified.  We also looked at how easy it now is to leverage Google Maps, and how powerful some of the new UI goodies are.  There was lots more and heaps of discussion; generally a very good night.
