New for 2011 - Las Vegas Adobe UG merges with Vegas Photoshop Users Grp

Merging the Groups
Entry posted on Nov 13 by sparkcreative

In January,  our groups will merge to form Las Vegas Adobe User Group and continue under that name. If you have not joined the main group, please do so now.

We'd like to thank John Olson and Deb Havre for their dedicated service to the Las Vegas AUG. John and Deb are stepping down as co-managers of Las Vegas AUG after many years of service. In light of this, the current group managers have decided to consolidate VegasPUG and Las Vegas AUG into one group starting in January. The group will continue under the Las Vegas AUG name and will focus on Print and Photography plus other Adobe software not adressed by the Flash and Dreamweaver Groups. John and Deb will continue to attend meetings and advise Krystal and Nate, who will manage the merged LVAUG group.  -- Krystal Hosmer

September meeting pics
Entry posted on Sep 25 by sparkcreative , tagged News,Event

We all had a great time with Adobe Evangelists Paul Trani and Renaun Erikson. Good turn out, even though we kept it under wraps that Paul and Renaun had bought a copy of CS5 to give away. Congrats to our lucky winner on that (i'll get his name from Terrance to post). It was a developer whom we haven't seen at the meetings before. In fact, we had a LOT of new faces and support from the flash & flex developers.  Renaun brought several Droids, netbooks, an iPhone and an iPad and did a good job expalining how simple Adobe has made it to author once for multiple platforms by showing the same app running on these devices live.

Paul then took the stage and ran through some of the new features in CS5. The crowd seemed to enjoy the puppet warp in CS5 demo the most. The next night the UG managers were treated to all you can eat sushi and I snapped a few pics.

Thanks for coming out and a HUGE thank you to Terrence Carroll for sponsoring the event and organizing it along with Tim Davis and to Paul and Renaun for presenting. Thanks to Scotty Thomas for bringing a camera and snapping some of these pics for us.

Want to attend our next Flash/Flex event? Get the details at:  http://www.vegasflash.org/

What's next?

The Dreamweaver group has a Novemeber meeting on HTML 5. Check their group facebook page  for more info.

VPUG is asking for member input on what you'd like to see next. Drop by and give us a suggestion.

All Groups: Coming up in December, we'll have a our semi-annual software giveaway. We are still firming up plans for that, so please stay tuned.
