Events - Bay Area ColdFusion User Group Tour De ColdFusion Contribution Night - Aug 21
Bay Area ColdFusion User Group
Adobe launched the Tour De ColdFusion BETA in June. It's a great resource for ColdFusion developers. One of our members noticed all the code examples are tag based. He contacted the Adobe Team and asked about contributing script based versions of the code examples and they replied "Great!" The plan for our Sept meeting is to knock out as many as we can in 2 plus hours. So far the following tags have script based examples. cfdump, cfinclude, cflog, cfsavecontent, cfset, cfsilent That leaves 128 for us to work on. This will be a great way to become familiar with cfscript addition in ColdFusion 9.

BACFUG has a new sponsor eSyncTraining.
The company is managed by Mike Kollen and Jen Jagel. Mike is a ColdFusion instructor and runs the ColdFusion User Group for Boeing. Jen Jagel worked at roundpeg.com training for over 10 years.
eSyncTraining is focused on bringing in top teir instructors (many from the community) to offer an online training experience on par and in some ways better than classroom training. The strongest selling point is all courses you take are available for viewing later, so 6 months down the road you can review concepts that may have not sunk in the first time.
How are they supporting BACFUG?
eSyncTraining is giving back to BACFUG when someone purchases a course with our partner id.

You can help BACFUG by spreading the word. I feel strongly that eSyncTraining is providing some of the best technology training out there.
BTW- Just check out their site. The shopping cart is built with Flex and powered by ColdFusion. An excellent showcase of what you can do with Adobe technology.
