"Beyond SELECT *; An Introduction to SQL" by Mike Lee (leeteched.com)
SQL is used to select, insert, update, and delete from databases, particularly relational database management systems. The importance of the ANSI SQL language is due to its prevalence in the technology industry. Not only is SQL critical to the operations of database systems themselves, most client programming environments, web design tools, or office products that interact with data will support some kind of SQL interface for data connectivity. As a result, every office power-user, programmer, graphical designer and system administrator administrator will likely confront SQL at some point in their career. This presentation will provide an overview of SQL, and focus on select options, including filtering and grouping, simple joins, and insert, update and delete.
Mike Lee is a Microsoft Certified Developer & Trainer (plus many more certifications) and an author of several SQL books.
