Great suggestions. I can probbaly swing a presentation on Server Side Actionscript. Could you think of maybe the top 5-10 server side script functionality you would be interested in?

I will also try and find a good person for the log management stuff in the future.

1.) Every 30 minutes a Client/Server "Nudge" asking "are you still there?", if twenty seconds ticks by with no response, the user is kicked, user response keeps user for another 30 minutes.

2.) Server Side Client Hash trapping. Find a user's Hash, then never allow this person to view events on your servers or better yet, trap a user's hash to ensure this person "always" gets a seat to the requested streamed event, even if you have to kick others.

3.) Database Event dispatching. An event occurs in the database (say... the field "lightSwitch" in a table is either turned On or Off) then dispatch this event each time it changes without using polling from the client and specifically using the FMS to push this data out to all clients currently running your FMS application.

4.) User Count Load Balancing using SSAS to manage the number of total users allowed to view a given streamed event.

Are you really wanting 1 to 6 more suggestions?

Regarding log management - I recently finished coding a log parser and all I can say is.. Adobe's log format is the work of the devil incarnate! Additionally, the 'how to' documentation is *not* correct, and doesn't mention any of the pitfalls (like re-connecting events).

It would be great to see authentication and file plugins covered.

@Konstantin Wilms I'm the FMS doc writer and I'd love to hear details about where the docs go wrong so we can correct them. In fact, you can comment directly on the docs: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_Welcome. Or, if you'd prefer, feel free to e-mail me: jbleyle@adobe.com.

.
