MLB drops Silverlight for Flash
I was on clound9 when MLB finally decided to go ahead with Adobe Flash for streaming their live videos!
After being a one of the most Silverlight famous customers. MLB Advanced Media said this Monday that it will move to use Flash Platform to deal with the both live and on-demond video services starting from the next year.
The MLB will put more than 1.5 million subscibers since 2003 in the hand of Adobe technology and its history as one of the largest video service company on the web.
"Flash provides a TV-like experience. You turn it on and it works," said Bob Bowman, president and CEO of MLBAM.
In addition to using the Flash Media Player to deliver streams in customer Web browsers, the MLB has also decided to develop a desktop application based on Adobe Air, the company's rich Internet application platform.
