CS4 crashing? memory issues? Troubleshooting tips?

Scott and I were talking earlier this year about having a demo regarding proper setup of the CS4 preferences, and explaining the optimum process for setting your "Memory and Multiprocessing" settings, but we never got to doing it, or so I can remember, so maybe this should be covered in a little more detail at the next meet.
