Title
Auto Masks and Folder View Options

Content

Hello Mr. David A Rogers!

Quick question(s) for you.

First, when using Auto Mask under the adjustment brushe I am looking to mask a large doorway. Once I have my mask set, is there a way to invert or swap the mask so it now masks all but the area originally masked area? I am looking to protect the originally masked area, so when I do a global exposure adjustment the masked doorway stays intact in its original exposure value.

Secondly, folder viewing options. I am looking to see only the contents of the folder I have selected in the hierarchy and not the contents of the subfolders containted within.

I am currently using LR3

Thanks for your time David. Hope to be in town for the next group meeting

To the best of my knowledge there is no way of reversing the mask. Doing a global adjustment will affect the entire image regardless of any mask anyway. The Masks only apply to the local adjustments.

Dont think of the mask in the same way as one might use a mask or selection in Photoshop. In this case I would do your global adjustment first and then push back any local areas you want to protect.

For the Folders viewing. Turn off - Library > Show Items in Subfolders. Now you will only see images that are in the folders selected and not images that are in folders within the selected folder.
