Photoshop CS5 problems
Entry
I've just spent about, oh, 20 or so hours fixing a known problem with Photoshop CS5. I'm one of the unfortunate souls who has a 2-year old Mac laptop with a Nvidia graphics card running the latest Snow Leopard update of 10.6.4.
My system worked just fine for months on the CS5 Master Collection until I launched Photoshop after installing the OS 10.6.4 update. My screen froze and I couldn't reboot. Of course, I thought I was a power geek and could fix everything myself. I ended installing Snow Leopard and the entire Master Collection twice. The problem was that I let the Apple updater install 10.6.4 each time after I got everything working... bringing me back to an unbootable state. Even booting in safe mode, the screen was scrambled and the system crashed.
I've since used Time Machine to restore my system back to a happy 10.6.3 with CS5. My computer is doing great and I'm back in InDesign creating lots of handouts for my classes at SRJC. I will admit that I haven't launched Photoshop yet and am using it on another system in my office.
If this blog helps one person, then I'm a happy teacher.
Cheers. Cyndi Reese.
