Job Description

Ground floor opportunity with pioneering NYC internet start-up for world class VP Engineering/Technical Lead.

Help build paradigm shifting web platform with application in social web, gaming, distance learning and online events. Currently in stealth mode, company just closed its ‘Series A’ funding round and now seeks superstar VP Engineering/Tech Lead. Extensive understanding of video chat, VOIP, and web conferencing platforms most desirable. Prior experience with social networking, immersive gaming development, virtual/digital goods, or distance learning platforms also a real plus!
You must be a self-motivated, hands-on developer who will lead the software team while contributing heavily to the platform’s architecture and development. Must be highly adaptive, creative, and impassioned; and inspired by the challenge of building the next generation of web interaction. The candidate should have experience managing in an Agile development environment and be comfortable with dedicating the time needed to jump start this endeavor, and bring it to market on a very rapid timetable.

Required Experience

The ideal VP Engineering/Team Lead will have experience leading a team through the full life cycle of software development, from concept to launch, and will be comfortable managing an actively changing code base. The candidate should also be up to date on the latest technologies being employed by the leading social networking, online gaming, online dating, and distance learning sites. While you will be relied on as the technical voice within management you must also be prepared to do a fair share of heavy lifting yourself. You should be equally comfortable developing for front-end and back-end applications, and your past projects should have been delivered on time and in budget... and you must be able to repeat that success here.

Desired Experience

We are seeking an individual who can call on a broad background in various technologies to help Shindig scale its products for mass consumption. Our current products employ solutions developed in Java and Flex.
