September meeting - TC 210

We held our September meeting in room TC 210 on the ICC East Peoria campus on Sept. 14. We had Jackie Thompson (ICC student activities as one of our speakers). Jackie explained many of the student activities and responsibilities for our local WOW chapter (meting held in conjunction with this meeting). She also discussed in depth the DETAILS program where ICC provides a transcript for community service activities. This program has been ongoing, but it was the first time most of us heard of it. Since many in our group provide services for not for profit organizations at no charge and are students at ICC, they should investigate this further. I have some added brochures if anyone wants to stop by and pick one up.

Mark discussed that Webucator has approached our group about offering some materials in exchange for a link and logo being posted in our site. Our group decided this was a good idea and I will take care of the detials soon.

We then had a discussion of the new HTML5 pack for Illustrator CS5 as well as development for mobile (especially smartphones).
