Speakers
Erich Cervantez, Founder of Xuland.com, Senior Programmer/Analyst - Web at 24 Hour Fitness. Erich started using Flex nearly five years ago with Flex 1.5 under Renaun Erickson (currently platform evangelist @ Adobe) at eVital Communications.
Agenda
Erich, an SDADUG member, has volunteered to present on a project of his called Xuland. It's a flash-based social networking application built using Flex 4, the Swiz inversion-of-control framework and ColdFusion. It's an example of what would happen if you crossed Craigslist with Facebook and Yelp and wrote it all in ActionScript & Flex. Some of its principle features include: auto-geolocation based on IP address, a commenting engine pinned to latitude/longitude coordinates, Flash-based Google Maps API integration, a simple image editor and the ability to login using any one of several third-party social network credentials. You can learn more about it on Erich's blog.
This is a great opportunity to learn how to develop next-generation Flex 4 apps with the popular Swiz framework.
Please come and support a fellow member and great, local, Adobe development. Pizza and soda will be provided.
