Agenda
Securing your web applications with ColdFusion is a presentation that covers programming techniques for encryption, obfuscation, roles/access controls and authentication mechanisms. Learn how and when to apply these techniques in your daily programming to make your applications more secure.
We will also briefly review the new(est) beta release builds of Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder and how they apply to ColdFusion development. Due to additional content being added to the web application security presentation, the Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder review will be postponed until the next meeting on OOP, where it applies more anyway ;)
Since this is our Christmas meeting, we'll be hosting our Xmas raffle. NOTE: I will only be bringing as many give aways as the number of 'yes' or 'maybe' RSVP's we receive. If you plan on attending the meeting, or even if you don't, please RSVP now! This is one meeting you don't want to miss - giveaways include software from Adobe and TechSmith!
NOTE: We will be meeting in the Centreville Conference Room.

Meeting Minutes
Two members showed for this evenings event and were given a presentation on techniques, methodologies and theory for using ColdFusion to secure their web applications. A brief discussion of accomplishing secure authentication were given for older (6.1,7) and newer (8,9) versions of ColdFusion as well as a quick look and dicussion of the benefits of MVC frameworks, OOP development and tools like ColdFusion Builder.
In lieu of a raffle, given only two members were present, both members received T-Shirts and software from TechSmith, and one was awarded the Adobe software package having won a coin toss. We thought about rock, paper, sciscors... but the coin ended up being a more convenient and just as happenstance way of determining a winner among the two ;)
All in all it was an informative and fun filled evening followed by a nice 5-mini beer sampler at Sweet Water Tavern.
