Please join us for an exciting introduction to Adobe Flash Catalyst by Adobe's Ryan Stewart! Ryan will be introducing Flash Catalyst - formerly codenamed Thermo - and discussing it's integration with Flex, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fireworks. This will be a great meeting for experience designers, Flex developers, Flash designers, interaction designers and any other designers of web and application interfaces.
  
Flash Catalyst is a game changing technology that will allow visual designers and Flex developers to work seamlessly together. No more 'throwing designs over the wall' to the development team or 'pushing a prototype to the designer's to skin'. Here's a brief description of Flash Catalyst from Adobe's lab site at (link)
  
"Adobe Flash Catalyst is a new professional interaction design tool for rapidly creating application interfaces and interactive content without coding. These can range from interactive Ads, product guides and design portfolios to user interfaces for applications. Flash Catalyst enables designers to start from static compositions created in Adobe Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, or Adobe Fireworks CS4 and convert the artwork into applications and interactive content. The designer does this by visually defining events, transitions and motion. Flash Catalyst can output a finished Flash SWF or AIR application that’s ready to publish on the web. In addition designers can provide the project file to developers who can use Adobe Flex Builder to add additional functionality such as connection to back-end systems."
  
NOTE: To accommodate Ryan's schedule, our meeting this month is on Wednesday, April 8th. Normally, we meet on the second Tuesday of each month.
