Adobe today released the public beta of ColdFusion Builder 2. The code editor enhancements alone are worth the price of investigating the beta, if not upgrading outright. If you write CF code, you definitely need to check it out.

Also, at Scotch on the Rocks (the premier CF conference in Europe), Adam Lehman and Terry Ryan gave a sneak peek at the next version of ColdFusion -- ColdFusion X. It's got some great new features, including:

• The replacement of JRun by Tomcat (yay!)
• Finely granular scheduled tasks and a task queue engine
• Closures in CF
