What a great turn out!?
Thank you so much to all who attended and expressed interest in the club!
 
I was excited to see so many show up for our first Adobe Fan Club meeting. 15 in attendance and several more emailed me to say they are sorry they missed it. Work, tends to get in the way of fun...
 
We had a great meeting. Here are the topics we went over.
  • Everybody had a chance to introduce themselves and talk about the favorite Adobe software. Photoshop seems to be the most popular. Lots of photographers in our division.
  • Discussed that the main objective of the club is to learn from each other as opposed to a single trainer teaching the software.
  • We are a group of beginners, intermediates, and experts and mised together who share a love for the software and its capabilites. Sharing what we know with those who don't opens the door of creativity for everyone.
  • I've applied for this group to become an official Adobe Users Group. If accepted, we get some benefits that range from discounts to free software.
  • We reviewed some examples of work from Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. We looked at the Firstborn.com website. The creators of Aflac.com. These examples can be found here. Or see attached PowerPoint
  • Because we had so many interested in Photoshop, our next meeting will be about Photoshop.
  • The next meeting is not scheduled yet, but will be within 2-3 weeks.
  • We've been approved to bring our personal laptops to the meetings. This will make things easier when trying to recreate issues or follow along with tutorials.
