Historically developers have lobbied for new features to be added to Adobe's runtimes. Now Adobe is putting the power to extend the runtime in the hands of developers via Native Extensions. AIR Native Extensions allow developers to quickly add features and device-specific components to your native applications using a mixture of ActionScript and native code. We will explore the importance of ANEs and how to use them when building mobile application using the Adobe AIR SDK and Flash Professional CS6.
