Job Description

Bring your passion for Web application development to Curaspan, and help build our software-as-a-service Web application that serves health-care professionals and their patients. eDischarge, which is deployed in more than 150 hospitals nationwide, has revolutionized the business process of finding the right follow-on care for patients after hospitalizations.

 

You will be a key member of our product development team, focused on making complex technology look simple and fast so it delights end users. Your drive to get things done will make a measurable difference to people’s health. Your professional skills with Java, SQL, Adobe ColdFusion and AJAX will position you to learn a lot about working with large databases (mySQL and Oracle), Web services, document storage and user interfaces. Your experience with development in Linux and/or Eclipse are strong pluses, as is your specific experience with rich data-intensive Internet application development. Experience in the health-care IT field, especially with HL7 or with HIPAA, will help you come up to speed quickly.

 

We are looking for someone with at least six years of leadership experience in a disciplined software development team. Your experience with spec and code reviews, unit testing, source code control, and configuration management tools will be very helpful. You also need excellent written and oral communications skills, a proven ability to work with both local and remote colleagues, and the curiosity to thrive in the fast-changing world of health care information technology.

Required Experience

6+ years professional experience post-degree, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.

A track record developing and deploying high-volume web applications with login and security features.

Desired Experience

Health care information technology, including the HL7 protocol.

Membership in core product teams (incl. product management, marketing, development) for successfully rolled-out products.

Required Skills

ColdFusion

Modern software engineering practices: source/configuration control, code reviewing, defect tracking,

Excellent written communication skills with people in many disciplines.

Ability to keep pace in a fast-changing business and regulatory environment.

Desired Skills

Java / JEE

Deep knowlege of SQL-style data base app development
