Enjoy an evening of the best in short animations at the 2010 Oscar-Nominated Animated Short Films at the Ragtag. The shorts include five short stories from around the world. Be sure to get your tickets in advance, and we’ll meet at the Ragtag. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. but come early to get seated. Afterward we’ll go to Broadway Brewery where we can discuss what we watched.

Continue the tradition of sharing the year’s best with your Adobe User Group! Send in links to your favorite games, animations, apps, and websites from 2011! You can even share your own projects! And here’s the best part… Earn raffle tickets for our next semi-annual software raffle!

Here’s how it works. Share a link or a project we haven’t shown already at a meeting and get a raffle ticket. You must send in your links (or notify me that you’ll be bringing in your work) in advance to qualify.

Limit 3 submissions per attendee.

Qualifying projects and really any of the rules (but you know we do our best to make this fair) are up to the discretion of the Adobe User Group Manager.

Oh, and you can also get an extra ticket for bringing a delicious treat to share.

Get a sneak peek of what’s happening at the 2012 MU Adobe Camp! You’ll find out more about the speakers and what is being offered. We might* even have some free passes to raffle, so join us for this special preview!

To register for the 2012 MU Adobe Camp on March 16 and for more information, visit http://doit.missouri.edu/training/adobefriday.html. Seating is limited, so register soon. Here’s a quick overview. MU IT is offering a week of classes focusing on Adobe products. Friday is the speaker day with numerous nationally-recognized speakers. There are three sessions: the Designer Session, the Developer Session, and the Digital Publishing Workshop. All are free to University of Missouri students, faculty, and staff. Sessions are just $20 each for the general public. Our speakers include:

Share the best of 2010 with your Adobe User Group! We’ll take a look at links to your favorite games, animations, websites—whatever that was cool and was made with Adobe tools. You can even share your own projects! And here’s the best part… Earn raffle tickets for the semi-annual software drawing we’ll be doing that night!

Here’s how it’ll work. Share a link or a project we haven’t shown already at a meeting and get a raffle ticket;  two tickets if it’s something you made. You must send me your links (or notify me that you’ll be bringing in your work) in advance to qualify.

Then, we’ll vote on its awesomeness. If it’s awesome, you get a bonus ticket.

Illustrator is great for designing vector artwork for logos, print layouts, wireframes, interfaces, and more. Come see an overview of the newest things you can make in Illustrator like perspective drawing, the bristle brush, and the shape builder tool.
