Chuck Freedman and the team at litl will be hosting a special meeting at their offices downtown. You will see and be able to play with the litl as they prepare to launch the new Flash 10.1 based SDK in May. In addition to hosting, litl will be providing food and drink.

Come early to play ping pong and network! google map Speakers: Chris Allen is an international speaker, software inventor and entrepreneur based in Boston, MA. He co-founded the open source Flash server Red5, where he and his team of volunteers reverse engineered Flash’s RTMP protocol. He started the company Infrared5, a technology services company, in 2007 where he served as its President and CEO until 2011. He now serves as President and CTO of Brass Monkey, a company that turns smartphones into game controllers for a cloud based game console. Agenda: Next Generation Mobile Interactions with Digital Signs and More Brass Monkey President and CTO, Chris Allen will present their new cutting edge Brass Monkey® SDK for creating cross platform experiences. Brass Monkey is at its core a networking library for interconnecting mobile devices and displays over a local WIFI. Brass Monkey’s primary use is as a controller, where a mobile device (say an iPhone) uses its built in controls like an accelerometer to communicate to a web based experience (Flash/Flex, Unity3D). Chris will show how to use the SDK, and demonstrate many of the possibilities this new technology opens up to developers and designers alike. He has been working on Flex since the early days of the product in 2003. In his previous role at Macromedia, Christophe worked on JRun, the company's J2EE application server. Before joining Macromedia, Christophe was managing Java, Internet, and PowerBuilder evangelism at Powersoft/Sybase. Christophe Coenraets, a leading Adobe Evangelist, will be discussing and showing off the latest capabilities of the new release of Creative Suite 5.5 which includes Flash Builder 4.5, Flash Catalyst 4.5 and Flex SDK 4.5. This event will have detailed information for Designers and Developers. All are welcome.
Although FB4.5 is a dot release, there are some major changes, including much more powerful cross platform development and very significant amounts of optimization for target platforms, including Android, Blackberry and iOS devices.
There are also lots of workflow and SDK changes that affect Developers and Designers. There will be ample time for questions and demonstration. Christophe is a very hands on presenter with deep knowledge of the product. He frequently answers questions by building an example on the spot.
This will be a great session. A full agenda will be posted shortly, but to give you a sense of what will be covered check out the two videos below.

Speakers: Daniel Rinehart is a Software Architect at Allurent, where he is helping to build a new generation of innovative online shopping experiences using Flex. He has worked in the field of software development as an engineer and architect for the past ten years. Prior to joining Allurent he worked at Ruckus Network, Towers Perrin, and BiT Group. Agenda: This talk will cover Adobe's Pixel Bender Toolkit, a technology for creating hardware accelerated image and video processing algorithms. We'll dive into the concepts behind the technology, where to get it, how to write a Pixel Bender kernel, using it in Flash and Flex, and methods for leveraging the technology to do sound and data processing.

They'll give a quick recap and answer questions you may have about any of the announcements and previews made by Adobe during the huge event. Agenda: In this session we will cover how to use the mobile development tools in Flash Builder “Burrito” (currently available on Labs) and the mobile components in the Flex “Hero” SDK to quickly and easily develop mobile applications for phones and tablets. We'll walk through the new Flex view paradigm in Flex for mobile and then work through using more advanced features such as the device camera, microphone, file API, SQLite and gestures.
