My team is looking for a seasoned Flex developer with Flex 3 and 4 experience to join a  team  that develops and maintains web-based Flex applications that integrate with other 3rd party applications.

Monsanto is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. Monsanto scientists are conducting research and development (R&D) to revolutionize plant breeding and biotechnology. The Technology Pipeline Solutions (TPS) team within IT works directly with the Monsanto scientists to develop software platforms that enable these research and development efforts. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics leveraging their data architecture expertise to play a key role in defining and delivering breakthrough science in high throughput R&D platforms for Monsanto.

This opportunity is in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the TPS Team within Monsanto.  The successful candidate will work in a software development environment to create, debug, and refactor Flex 3 applications.  The candidate will drive continuous improvement in the software development lifecycle through data analysis and understanding data trends to drive out waste.  The candidate will utilize their experience in software development to create prototypes and develop new/improved tools to report on metrics from the software development lifecycle.  In addition, through the use of strong SQL queries and Excel experience, the candidate will perform data manipulation, analysis and reporting of data and creation of charts.  Excellent communication skills are a must to successfully interact with all members of the technical staff, as well as be able to present to management.  

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

The candidate must possess the following technical experience:

• Minimum 5 years experience working in the US as a programmer/analyst in a scientific or technical environment.

• 1-2 years experience with Flex 3 development, charting, and refactoring.
• Ability to create and present professional level charts and graphs.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and a good understanding of relational databases.
• 1-2 years experience with SQL Server 2005 database for complex queries and analysis.
• Strong experience with Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent data analysis skills; attention to detail a must.
• Ability to independently identify and resolve data issues.
• Experience with creating and using metrics to base key product decisions.  

• Experience with SQL Server
• Writing SQL Queries
• Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS).
• Experience with SubVersion (SVN) for code management.
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Experience with C#/.NET is a plus.

Job Description: The position requires solid hands on development in Flex using Parsley micro architecture on the state of art for the next generation online trading application which provides clients with access to trade ideas, research ideas and market commentary, live and tradable prices in various fixed income products.

The application requires a very Rich UI supported by a Java based backend in Spring.  The candidate is required to work independently on both UI and component development.   

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

*    Coordinate with users and developers located in different geographic regions

Required skills and experience:
*    4+ years of Solid experience in all version of Flex from 3.0 to Flex 4.0, should be well versed with Flex 4.0 features.

*    At least 1 year of Component Development in Action Script (MUST)
*    Expert in Parsley, Swiz or any other IOC based Micro- Architecture (MUST)
*    Expert in Messaging using LCDS or LightStreamer (MUST)
*    Expert in using Charts, Analytics
*    Giga spaces (NICE to have)
*    Knowledge to Equity and Fixed Income (NICE to Have)
*    Spring MVC, AOP, WebServices (Should have a good understanding )

Education:
*    Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or IT Related
