Entry: There is a RIA Meetup (online) about components. You can visit the ria meetups for more information. From their site: When you build components for your own applications, you are working in a controlled environment and can make a lot of assumptions about how your component will be used. However, if you want to release components out into the wild? It is inevitable that folks will use your component in ways you didn't consider; and they're going to blame you if it doesn't work. This presentation will cover some tips and tricks to help you optimize your components for reuse. About the Speaker: In his spare time he is a musician, old school adventure game aficionado, and recording engineer. He also owns a Wii. You can check out the components at www.flextras.com/?c=107 , read his blog at www.jeffryhouser.com, check out his podcast at www.theflexshow.com or check out his company at www.dot-com-it.com

Entry: It’s that time of year again, and FITC Toronto is right around the corner! (April 25-27th). Once again, they have graciously donated a pass for us to give away at our next event. There will be over 70 presentations and panels, covering everything from the creative and technical, to the business aspects of Flash and digital media. In addition to the presentations and panels, they are also running a full day of pre festival workshops, as well as the "FITC Get A Job" event on Saturday the 24th. This is a free to attend job fair for the Interactive industry. And if all that wasn't enough, they also put on some great parties! For more information head on over to their site and check it out! Hope to see you there.

To get started with development of PlayBook applications, RIM has provided a variety of resources and incentives to the community. First, head on over to the BlackBerry Tablet developers website.
