KCVideoCore, no meeting, please fill out survey!
Event posted on Mar 11 by DESE Nick Schale

Title: KCVideoCore, no meeting, please fill out survey!
Agenda:

No meeting this month.

In lieu of a meeting this month we will be asking our members to take some time on a survey. Unfortunately I will be out of town, a few of the members are also not going to be able to make it, soooo we are adjusting the plans a little.

This survey is NOT anonymous, because filling it out will earn a raffle ticket and I’ll be drawing for After Effects Apprentice (must be present at the next meeting to receive)! Not to mention these raffle tickets will be thrown into the big give away drawing in a few months.

So, recap, no meeting! Survey instead! Please fill it out BEFORE March 18th (Thursday).

Grab dinner before you come.

I'll show off my SMALL 'studio' ;) and if we want we can talk shop for a little bit. I'll show my makeshift DYI green screen. We will do raffle tickets before we leave for the set.

Around 7:30PM we will travel to the set of Pawn's Move (Caleb Vetter's feature film) and watch some of the magic happen! This location is also in Leavenworth, approx 10min from my house. I'd say we will want to be out of there around 8:30/9:00 ish.

This is going to be a very focused meeting, if you have no interest in 'feature film' and 'on set' things, don't feel obligated to come :).

See you all at the house!

Nick

<pervious post>Will most likely be in Westen, MO. I will put more details tomorrow. This will be a very casual meeting. <changed>

Attention all KCVideoCore members and Adobe fans. This month’s meeting is the big one! It is our DEMO Night and Give Away Night! Bring some work to show off and get an extra Raffle Ticket! I don't see anything wrong with a little Q/A after your presentation so bring your demos, your curiosity, and bring some dinner to munch on while we share our creativeness!

(Around 5-10 minute presentations, and seriously no one here works for Pixar so all skill levels are welcome!)

It is the meeting where one lucky person will win the Adobe Software! Value up to $2,100 (so, while you COULD just get GoLive, you SHOULD get a ‘suite’ i.e. Production Bundle!). Buck has a nice posting of the rules and such at the KCDesignCore site. LINK.

Notable rules: this cannot be your first meeting, you cannot throw in $400 and get the Master Collection, you will be asked to present something you have done with the software within 4 months. Buck created a post on the Awesome KCDesignCore site about the rules for the Big Prize, you can find them here. (Link) Thanks Buck.

Raffle tickets! SHOW UP! Every time you come to a meeting you get a raffle ticket (oh yeah, did I mention those meetings are free?!). Meeting: 008 Green Screens! 3
Event posted on Oct 12 by DESE Nick Schale

Title: Meeting: 008 Green Screens!
Speakers:

Nick Schale

Caleb Vetter (Tentative)

Agenda:

First 30 minutes we will catch up on some house cleaning. Two months with no
meetings!? Oct and Nov are the only chances to stack some raffle tickets into the
hat for the BIG prize give away in December, so be sure to make it!

Quick report from Photoshop World by Nick Schale.

<Tentativly planned> Quick presentation by Caleb Vetter on the
Erwin Brothers Film School, a week long jam packed session!
Seriously… look at the schedule, it is INTENSE.
Site: http://filmschool.erwinbrothers.com/

Then, the meat and potatoes of the night, Greenscreening 101!
Set-up | Lighting | Cameras | I’ll snag a short clip |Demo After Effect’s KeyLight

This portable greenscreen studio will be OPEN to use!! In fact I REALLY want you guys to get some footage of yourself (or on screen talent that you bring). Here is how I see this working. John Doe might need a 30 second shot of him reading off a script, he brings a camera and gets the shot done! OR If you do not have a camera (or want to use a HD one) bring your laptop (needs to be able to take an Express Card which most modern laptops can). *Also, it would be a big help if you downloaded Sony Clip Browser… if not, bring a thumbdrive (2GB+) and we can transfer it from my laptop.

Wrapping it up with raffle prizes. Giving away the following two books:
-After Effects CS4 Visual Effects and Compositing
    by Mark Christiansen
 -The Visual Effects Arsenal
    by Bill Byrne
