2009 Adobe Worldwide RIA Tools Tour at the Sprint Campus
Event posted on Jun 12 by DESE Nick Schale

Title: 2009 Adobe Worldwide RIA Tools Tour at the Sprint Campus
Agenda:

You are invited to the 2009 Adobe Worldwide RIA Tools Tour at the Sprint Campus, next Wednesday, June 17th, from 6PM to 9PM - and have some free Jack Stack BBQ for dinner - provided by our sponsors.

We need everyone to register as soon as possible. We have been working hard, organizing this event not only for you – our valued KCCoreGroups members – but also the entire regional area. We have sent out postcards to businesses from Bentonville, Arkansas, Joplin, MO, and Springfield, MO to Wichita, KS – Lawrence, KS to St. Joseph, MO – and the entire Kansas City metro area. We have designed new t-shirts and other giveaways. We will be raffling off Adobe software up-to $2100, books, and MicroCenter gift cards. We have recruited more sponsors for this event than ever before! If you attend only one meeting all year, this is the one!

Please register and find out more about our event at www.KCCoreGroups.org.

Kevin Hoyt, a Platform Evangelist at Adobe, will be at the event, live, presenting on ColdFusion(Centaur), Flex(Gumbo), and Flash Catalyst. He’ll show off Flash Builder 4 (Flex Builder renamed) and Bolt (the new ColdFusion IDE).

Kevin is throwing out the slides and showing us demos with graphics and code showcasing the newest features in ColdFusion, Flex, and Adobe's newest product, Flash Catalyst. Kevin will also speak on Adobe's newest RIA workflow, how you can be even more efficient with Adobe products.

We would really appreciate it if you would forward this email to colleagues and friends in your company and/or professional community. We have an opportunity to show Adobe that there is a real Adobe presence in Kansas City by having a large turnout for this.

Please register and find out more about our event at www.KCCoreGroups.org.

Thanks for your help and I hope to see you there,

Jim Pickering

    KCVideoCore #009 (Cancel) 5
    Event posted on Nov 12 by DESE Nick Schale

    Title: KCVideoCore #009 (Cancel)
    Speakers:

    Nick Schale

    Agenda:

    So I just got off the phone with Buck and we both agree that canceling tomorrow is probably a good idea. No need putting anyone at risk and we wanted to give you a heads up in enough time. Now I just know it will be sunny and 70 degrees. But we have good news. In place of a meeting we will be having a contest!

       So, no meeting tomorrow but in place we have a plan! KCVideoCore is having its FIRST contest!

    Create a KCVideoCore Animation! Must at least hove the word KCVideoCore.

    Guidelines: 10-15 seconds, resolution is your call :) But you HAVE to present it at the meeting in December! Give a short presentation on it.

    Can be video, motion graphics... build it in After Effects, Flash, Premiere. Your choice! Oh, and keep it clean =-)

    Prizes:
    1st place: 4-Raffle tickets for the big-give away!
    2nd place: 2-Raffle tickets for the big-give away!
    NOTE: This CAN be your first meeting and still win!!!

    ::Cancelled meeting::

    6:00 - 6:30
    Networking / Social hour

    6:30 - 6:40
    Introductions; Nick / Buck. Go over Adobe User IDs and everyone needs one and joining the KCVideoCore Adobe User Group site.

    6:40 - 6:45
    Give a quick rundown on KCDesignCore, KCWebCore, KCDevCore.

    Sponsors: Adobe of course // Focal Press // [new] O'Reilly // [new] Peachpit.

    O'Reilly ::

    "Your group members receive a 35% discount on O'Reilly, No Starch, PC Publishing, Pragmatic Bookshelf, Rocky Nook, SitePoint, or YoungJin products purchased directly from O'Reilly. The discount code your members should use is DSUG. Orders can be placed online at oreilly.comor by calling 800-998-9938. Your members are also entitled to a discount on O'Reilly conferences and tutorials. Other special discount offers may also be forwarded to your group from time to time."

    Peachpit ::

    "We provide your group members with a 35% discount off the list price of any of our books. At checkout, right before entering their credit card information, they must enter the user group coupon code UE-23AA-PEUF (case-sensitive). This coupon code is an exclusive offer that may not be used in conjunction with any other coupon codes."

    6:45 - 6:55
    Discuss DVM's Sony demo, the EX1R since we have a hand full of EX1 owners.

    6:55 - 7:55
    Recap on last month's meeting, setting up for green screen capture. Hopefully we will have a demo of some new cool technology.

    We will basically have a 'work shop' type atmosphere going through the green screen footage. How to polish it up, add some background, compose some shots and render it out.

    Hopefully I will have a successfull demonstration of the Flash alpha channel export that we tried at the last second, last month. Cross those fingers.

    7:55 - 8:15
    Hand out raffle tickets, give out door prizes. TALK ABOUT REVIEWS!

    Discuss next month's demo meeting. Demo = extra ticket = extra chance to win!
