NOMMUG :: March Meeting :: Satellite Center
RSVP This month Matt Duhe and Joe Solito, high school seniors from the Satellite Center in St. Charles Parish, will be discussing the creation of a mobile app that utilizes augmented reality and 3D animation. They will also be sharing their current work for the official New Orleans Hornets’ app. About Matt and Joe: Matt Duhe and Joe Solito are high school seniors from the St. Charles Parish Public School System currently attending the Satellite Center in Luling. Last year they completed the Digital Media course and this year are enrolled in the Independent Study Of Technology course. They started this school year by creating an augmented reality application to help promote a local high school rivalry football game called “The Battle on the River”. Through the use of 3D models and animation, the app gave users the unique experience of bringing a 2D poster to life by simply scanning it with a smart phone. The pair is currently working on several projects, one of which is the creation of “The Mobile Hive”, which is the official mobile application for the New Orleans Hornets. Outside of school, they have teamed up with two talented friends to form their own multi-media company called StudioVictus. Since forming the company, they have quickly found themselves with a multitude of local clients. Both students plan on attending college to continue their studies. In the fall, Joe will be studying Mass Communications at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a focus on Media Advertising and Matt will be pursing a degree in Business Management at Louisiana State University.
