Title: Changing of the Guard at the Denver CFUG
Entry: Hey Denver CFUG! Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is John Blayter and I am the new User Group Manager for the Denver CFUG. I have been slaying CF now for over 10 years, currently employed as a Sr. Application Developer at Triple Creek Associates in the DTC and I was the Phoenix ColdFusion User Group Manager before moving up to Colorado a couple of years ago. Gene will be staying on as the co-manager for the group and will still be around helping me out. We are in the process of relaunching the group with the help of some great folks at Adobe. While we are working on the relaunch we will not have a meeting this evening. Next month I will have everything ready and I will be presenting on an introduction to Service Oriented Architecture. If you still in that area of a spaghetti coder or are you working within a MVC with keeping your queries in a CFC you will benefit from understanding SOA. We will go over the fundamentals of SOA, how to intoroduce it into an existing application in your daily work, touch on how Transfer and Reactor. We will also be changing some formatting of the group meeting. I am working on bringing in some speakers to talk to us and a new website through the Adobe Groups site. I also want to focus some time on networking, hanging out and talking shop. We have a large ColdFusion community here in Denver and we need to all get to know each other a bit better. Thanks, John Blayter

Title: Image Manipulation In CF 8+
Entry: Join us when Bill King, long time ColdFusion developer, consultant and founder FusionDevelopers, inc. discusses the functions, features and hidden gems in the new integrated image manipulations tools added to ColdFusion 8 and 9. Find out how these new features will force you to re-think the way you handle images, graphics, and other external applications of ColdFusion. Bill will be providing code snippets and challenging the way we think of handling content management, image delivery, and Web development around imagery.
Afterwards all are welcome to walk to a close by watering hole for a drink.

Title: No September Meeting
Entry: We are working on some changes to the group right now and we need to concentrate on those.
There will be no meeting this month. I hope to announce all of the changes to you by the end of this week. Our goal is to build a community here of CF developers in Denver and the steps we are doing will help us achieve this.

Title: Stickers?
Entry: Now that we have consolidated the goodies into a single box we have a bunch of the Adobe stickers to give out. They are all cut out and ready for you to take and stick to your laptop or whatever. I contacted Pepsi and they are also sending out some Mtn Dew stickers as well seeing that caffeine is just as important as a good processor for getting the work done. I also have a couple of New Blgium stickers to throw into the mix. Are there any other stickers that you all may want that I can try and track down for you?
