Presentation for cross mobile development through AIR
Entry posted on Jul 22 by Yozef0 , tagged Mobile,Development

Adobe AIR has grown to be one of the best cross platform development SDK. While that last statement may sound like jibberish to designers, our aim in 2 weeks time is to set the dots clearly on the i's to help designers get their grooves on development. This lecture may be useful to developers as well.

Michel Assaf of Black Labs has graciously taken the time to do a demo on how to get started (hands on) into taking a Photoshop design and bringing to life via Adobe AIR into an iOS and Android Mobile Application. The end result will give you a clear idea of the workflow of a developer and the details of what one needs to look for as they develop.

We will also suggest supperb resources to go and learn more via premium online video tutorials, and sites to add to your RSS feeds.

To register you may simply send us your name and number of persons accompanying you to 03 973 234.

This meetup is sponsored by Mobile Development company Underlabs.

Event details: August Friday 10th @ 18:00 - Ain Saadéh, Imm Sawan

Entry posted on Jan 31 by Yozef0 , tagged Rich Internet Apps,Mobile,Development,Design

It's a great time to be a developer!

After a vibrant open mic between HTML5 & Flex/Flash as a meduim to get our artwork & application across. The final points to take note of are that use the best technology for the purpose you need.

Mobile Development has change a lot the skill set a developer requires to be relevent in this day & age.

Mobile First is the Moto among industry leaders & the topic of our next meeting on Friday February 17th, 2012. Due to the lack of beers last time, we have been in touch with Almaza and have promised us to provide more beer this time around (we emphasized the need of 'quality beer' for quality time, not to mention with the help of Ogilvy).

We will also discuss the possibility of organizing a Development Marathon Weekend in Lebanon!

Flash ♺ HTML5 - Open Mic
Entry posted on Sep 16 by Yozef0 , tagged Mobile,Development

Flash & HTML5 go hand in hand.

Though HTML5 isn't a plugin to the browser. and currently, incompatibility implentations among different browsers, makes you wonder what they mean by standards.

Currently developing Apps with similar rapidity ans ease of skinning as in Flex & Flas Catalyst, and those advantages are currently lacking in ease and flexibility in HTML5.

Flash in some cases (HTML5 does bad in others) are a CPU hog, apparent in Mobiles such as iOS (ex: a push view) makes our open mic this September 30th, a topic much anticipated.

This meeting will be an open mic among peers, representing IT from Ogily MENA (lenience: HTML5), Leo Burnett Beirut (lenience: Flash) and various workshops, we welcome all forms of developers with knowledge in both technologies, and neophytes that could judge for themselves.

Submit your AIR (made in Burrito) Applications to RIM's APP WORLD
Entry posted on Jan 04 by Yozef0 , tagged Development

As you all undoubtedly know we’ve been working closely with RIM to help them create a lot of great AIR apps for the Blackberry PlayBook launch in 2011. RIM is offering free PlayBooks to app developers whose apps get accepted into App World (http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/playbook_offer.jsp) but we decided to make the offer a little better for Adobe User Groups.

So, here’s the deal. We’re going to raffle off a bunch of prizes to both Adobe User Groups and to members of the groups who submit apps to the App World between now and February 1, 2011. Here’s what’s available:

1) ALL user groups who have at least one app submitted get an extra software raffle in 2011.
2) TEN individual user group members (or managers) drawn at random from all entries get a copy of FB4 Premium.
3) THREE Grand Prize winning user groups get a new mobile device to raffle off at an upcoming user group meeting.

So - there’s prizes available both for the groups and for individuals

TO ENTER, you need to have SUBMITTED an AIR app to Blackberry’s App World AND you need to fill out the following form. Any member of an Adobe User Group or any group manager can enter. Multiple entries from one user group increase your chances to win.

This is the entry form link: http://bit.ly/AUGraffle

Looking forward to seeing what comes out of this!
