Recording of last night's meeting
Entry posted on Oct 12 by yacoubean

Last night we were priviledged to have Bilal Soylu from Verian Technologies present on "Practical Application Security for ColdFusion". The meeting was over Adobe Connect, because Bilal lives in the Eastern United States. The meeting was recorded, and you can watch it here. I think it was very informative and we learned many new things about securing our ColdFusion applications.

Reminder: We are meeting tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder that we are meeting tomorrow night. Here are the meeting details.

October Meeting 1
Entry posted on Oct 04 by yacoubean

Next Tuesday is our meeting for this month, and this time we are having a special guest. His name is Bilal Soylu, and he is the CTO of Verian Technologies. He will be presenting his topic "Applied Application Security", and we will be using Acrobat Connect to "bring" him to Boise (he lives on the other side of the country.) Please plan on attending! I have posted the details in our event calendar.

Demo Derby next month! 3
Entry posted on Aug 18 by yacoubean

Next month's meeting (September 13th) will be a demo derby. The meeting is at 6 PM. This means that YOU can do a short presentation of a cool project you've worked on in the past. I'd prefer if these were ColdFusion oriented, but if you want you can present on any web development topic that is related to ColdFusion. I'd like each demo to take 5-10 minutes. So start thinking now about something you'd like to share with the group, as I hope we will have lots of participation for this. Also, if you know of any CFers that may not know about our group, please spread the word!

We have a new meeting location! Thanks to Roy for letting us meet at Senator Crapo's office last time. We have found what I hope will be a nice permanent location for our group (and thanks again to Roy for this tip.) ITT Technical Institute has graciously allowed us to put down roots at their campus in Boise near HP. We will have a projector and Internet access for the presenter (sorry, no Internet if you are not presenting.)

Reminder: Demo Derby is in 1 week!

Hi guys,

I hope you all can make it to next Tuesday's meeting (not tomorrow, Tuesday the 13th.) And I hope most of you are planning to do a demo of something cool you've built in the past (or something cool you build just for us!) :) Next week's meeting details are here.

Meeting next Tuesday (the 9th)

Like last month, we aren't going to have a formal meeting this month. We will meet at Burger N Brew on State St. again @ 6 PM. Here is a map if you need directions.

Tonight's meeting 2
Entry posted on Jul 12 by yacoubean

Just a reminder that we are meeting tonight at Burger N Brew @ 6 PM. Also, the directions I posted in the last announcement were wrong. The Burger N Brew on Fairview is now a smoking bar (I think it's called "The Office".) So we are meeting at the Burger N Brew on State St. Here is a map.

And for those that missed the last meeting...we decided that meeting attendance will increase your chances with the semi-annual software drawing (the next drawing will be in December). Each time you attend gets you another "ticket" in the drawing. So for example, if Jill attends 10 times but Jack only attends 1 time, Jill will have 10 times the chances to win the drawing. And I will be counting these casual meetings at restaurants. :)

Meeting July 12th
Entry posted on Jul 07 by yacoubean

Update: I was informed that the Burger N Brew on Fairview is not a Burger N Brew anymore, it's now a smoking bar. So let's meet at the Burger N Brew on State St. The map link below has been updated.

Since it's summer and people are often gone for vacations and stuff, we aren't going to have a formal meeting this month. But we'd still like to get together and chat about the world's best web programming language. At the last meeting someone suggested we meet at Burger N Brew, so that's the plan this month. 6 PM is our normal monthly meeting time, so let's shoot for that. We'll meet at the Burger N Brew in Boise on State St. Here is a map if you need directions.
