I was contacted with a job posting for the group. If anybody is interested, drop a comment below and I'll get you in touch. Here's his message:
"State of Idaho is in need of a coldfusion developer who can work on site for a couple of weeks. The hourly rate is good."
Has it been a month already?! :)
Time has flown and I don't have any plans together for tomorrow's regularly scheduled meeting time. Let's just skip this month and try again next month.
Next month's meeting (September 13th) will be a demo derby. The meeting is at 6 PM. This means that YOU can do a short presentation of a cool project you've worked on in the past. I'd prefer if these were ColdFusion oriented, but if you want you can present on any web development topic that is related to ColdFusion. I'd like each demo to take 5-10 minutes. So start thinking now about something you'd like to share with the group, as I hope we will have lots of participation for this. Also, if you know of any CFers that may not know about our group, please spread the word!
We have a new meeting location! Thanks to Roy for letting us meet at Senator Crapo's office last time. We have found what I hope will be a nice permanent location for our group (and thanks again to Roy for this tip.) ITT Technical Institute has graciously allowed us to put down roots at their campus in Boise near HP. We will have a projector and Internet access for the presenter (sorry, no Internet if you are not presenting.)
Don't forget our upcoming meeting Tuesday June 14th at 6 PM! As a reminder, this will be our software drawing meeting.
Roy is going to present on jQuery/AJAX/ColdFusion. We will meet at his office, which is located at 251 E. Front St., Suite 205. It is directly across from WinCo downtown, between Front and Myrtle streets. It's a 4-5 story building. On the first floor is a George's Cycle Shop...pull into the parking lot of George's and drive to the back. The entrance doors face Broadway. Roy will be in the lobby waiting for us. Their office doors lock at 6:00 (so if you can arrive 5 min. early that would be great). If you are late you can call Roy and ask him to come let you in: 409-4313.
Just a friendly reminder that we are meeting tomorrow night. We are doing a demo derby, so hopefully you have been something in mind to show off to the group. If not, come anyway! :) Also, we will have the software drawing, so some lucky person will get a BIG prize from Adobe. Here are the meeting details.
I am trying to put together the details for next month's meeting. Do you have any ideas for the topic we should discuss? Also, is the date/time I picked convenenient for you all (Second Tuesday at 6:00 PM), or is there a better time? And do you know of a better meeting location?
Our first meeting only had 2 attendees, including myself, so I'm hoping to improve things where necessary to get a better turn out. On that note, please spread the word to your CF friends about the group!
Everybody is usually so busy in December, so we decided to skip the meeting this month. See you in January!
If any of you would like to attend AdobeMax this year, Adobe is offering a discount to Adobe User Group members. You can save $200-$400! Drop a comment on this post if you want this discount and I'll send it to you.
The Early Bird pass is $1295 and the regular MAX pass is $1495 so depending on when you use it, this is either $200 or $400 off. Visit the AdobeMax website to register.
Just a reminder about tonight's meeting @ 6, I hope to see you all there! :)
Just a reminder that we're meeting at Old Chicago tomorrow night @ 6. Here are the details.
