Date and Time: August 16, 2012 06:30 PM - 08:30 PM (GMT-8 Pacific Time US & Canada) RSVP Address: The Art Institute of California-San Diego 7675 Mission Valley Rd. San Diego, CA 92108 PLEASE NOTE - We are in the in the SOUTH building in room 307. google map Agenda: For this month’s meeting we are continuing to talk about plugins – namely, plugins you can’t live without. Most of us use plugins to help us make our projects look or sound that much better. With so many out there to choose from how can you know which fits your workflow best? Which is worth your hard earned money? The goal for this meeting is to make it more interactive than most. If you’ve got a favorite plugin that you can’t live without, share it with the group. You can bring in a short project (or clip from longer project) where you’ve used it, or you can bring in your laptop and show us a short demo of how it works. The goal is to make this as interactive as possible – let’s learn from each other. All plugins are welcome so long as they work in Premiere Pro or After Effects - so if you use something in another NLE, you can still share it so long as it works with Let me know if you want to share, and what it is you’ll be sharing. We’ll do our monthly troubleshooting session, and we’ll be having our monthly raffle. Someone will be winning a copy of Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Looks 2 and a $500 gift certificate for Artbeats! Please RSVP if you plan on attending, and if you plan on attending think about what your favorite plugin is.
Speakers: The Group... Agenda: I thought it might be fun and cathartic if we could talk about projects that drove us to our limits. How did we handle clients, what kind of creative solutions did we use to overcome problems, how did the projects turn out. If you can, bring in something on a laptop or DVD or bring your project on a hard drive, we can open it up in Premiere Pro and you can show your work and how you worked your magic. I'll have my laptop with CS4 if you want to bring a full project and show it. Please let me know if you want to show something, and be sure to have some stories.

Date and Time: February 21, 2013 06:30 PM - 08:30 PM (GMT-8 Pacific Time US & Canada) RSVP Address: The Art Institute of California-San Diego 7675 Mission Valley Rd. San Diego, CA 92108. We are in the in the SOUTH building, upstairs in room 410 google map Agenda: Last month we talked all about cameras, and got some great tips on shooting better video. But after you’ve shot your video, it’s time to edit. The way you set up your project can either make your editing experience easy and fluid, or it can make your job miserable and frustrating. This month, we’ll talk about ways to get your footage ingested, tips on setting up a project folder, and ways to handle all the media and project related files. We’ll look in depth at Prelude, and how it can help you ingest and organize for footage before you even open up Premiere Pro. We’ll also talk about file and folder organization so that when you open up that three year old project, everything connects and you’re not hunting for missing files. We’ll do our monthly troubleshooting session, and have some cool stuff to raffle off as well. And we’ll have our “post-meeting debrief” as well. Please RSVP if you plan on attending...and please try and do it while the group site is up. :) PLEASE NOTE: Due to the official group website being rather…let’s say “flakey” as of late, please RSVP here, or if the site is down you can do it on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/groups/284822378251101/) or Google+ community page (https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/115135520873454077141 ). Also, you can follow the group on Twitter as well - @SDPProUserGroup…if (when) the site goes down again, please use these to communicate and get group related updates. I will update them before the meeting next week with any info. And yes, it might be time to look into our very own group site… |
