Utah developer shortages

We have been looking to fill 4 open developer positions for months, and to date still have 2 openings!  In the past, we would run and add on ksl.com or monster and always end up with a great pool of talent to choose from.  Now days it seems that the situation has been reversed, and a pool of companies are fighting over a single developer.

 Are people just that happy with their jobs they are not looking?  Is the economy 'recovered' to the point that developer  jobs are in demand again?  Are we the only company having problems?  What do you all see going on?

Help with big project

I am a vb.net programmer and I would like to migrate my knowledge and my programs to flex.

I am very new to flex and need advise on how to start.

I have a big project right now in vb.net that I would like to recreate in flex. It involves many many forms.

I did found mdiflex project and it looks very promessing, but I am afraid that the project will become very big and will take to much time to load.

I have read about modules but not much samples out there especially that I need to pass parameters values between forms.

Your help and suggestions are welcome and if someone has some samples it will be greatly appreciated.

Is there a simple Parallax effect class or function that may be used in Flash Builder 4.5 and Flex?

Is there an existing Parallax effect class that I may use with Flash Builder 4.5? I cannot find anything. The closest effect I've found is not meant for Flex:

What I'd like to do is have 4 images within the MXML that create the array. I do not want to use a movie clip.

Anyone know how to do this? There has to be an easier way.

Antialiaser, font testing bench for Flex 3 projects

Hello everyone, Cycle-IT has release a native AIR application, called Antialiaser. Antialiaser is a free AIR application that makes OpenType and TrueType font visualization easy, allowing you to customize them precisely so you can use them inside your Flex 3 and AIR projects.

We've been internally using it, and we decided to release it free. We're working hard to release a new version that supports Flex 4 text controls and font embedding, but for now, if you're still working with Flex 3 projects (new or legacy ones), do not hesitate and give Antialiaser a try.

I am working on a project that will involve multiple file uploads and I was hoping to grab some slides/notes/code examples/replay link for the event this past May 18 that discussed the topic. I'd like to review the approaches taken for the demonstration and see if they can be applied/adapted in my project.
