Reminder: Introducing The Box2D Physics Engine for AS3
Entry posted on Jan 18 by mmugChicago

Join us tonight 1/18 for an introduction to the ActionScript 3.0 port of the Box2D Physics engine. Box 2D allows developers to simulate gravity, inertia, collisions, and various simple machine behaviors in Flash.

Our guest presenter, Brian Busche will touch on a recent project he helped develop where this technique was used to create an engaging web site for a popular breakfast cereal. Examples will be provided that are intended to help programmers quickly understand the basics of Box2D. Non-programmers may find the examples easy enough to help them create very simple 2D Physics content in Flash.

Looking for an experienced Joomla programmer/developer.
Entry posted on Jan 09 by mmugChicago

Our current site (www.topcats.org <http://www.topcats.org> ) is using an old Joomla template. I have two new templates that I am considering using to update the website. They are compatible with the latest version of Joomla. The current template uses an older version of Joomla.

We will need to upgrade the website to the latest Joomla version and then upgrade to one of the new templates. Initially I want the same functionality as the current website and migrate all the current documentation over to the new environment. ‘Phase II’ will include adding additional functionality.

We will need to set up a development environment on our hosting site (iPower) to do all the upgrades and then upload it to the production environment once it has been thoroughly tested.

Our first priority is the initial upgrades. However, I will be looking for ongoing ‘technical’ support as required and if the Top Cats board approves the additional functionality, further development work down the road. So, I am looking for a reliable and responsive person with whom the Top Cats can have a long term relationship with.

If you are interested, please email me with info on your Joomla background and sample sites if possible, at:wombat@dpdougherty.com

Thanks,
Dennis
