Entry posted on Nov 15 by mmugChicago

Flash has added a ton of innovation and capabilities to the Internet, but one major concern of using Flash on a site revolves around search engines. Join AUG Chicago, The Chicago-Area Adobe Users Group, Monday, November 15th when we take a look at Flash and Search Engine Optimization (SEO ).

Our guest speaker Brian Busche will talk about how to make Flash web sites SEO friendly. Brian will share his recent experience building GAIA based Flash site and how he went about making it accessible to search engines with the help of SWFAddress. He'll demonstrate how by using SWFAddress, he is able to serve up HTML alternative pages for the search engines to index. Those pages act as deep-links into the Flash content of the Web Site. Brian will explain he fundamentals behind this approach and then share some code examples based on a live web site.

Hello again! We are throwing together a bit of a last minute meetup this month, but it should be amazing none the less. We got the news that Jesse Freeman (@theFlashBum) was going to be in town. Jesse started up the Happy Hour in New York, and I hear he may know a thing or two about development. So please drop in and say hi, we are meeting at Manhattan’s Bar on Dearborn Street, there is some deal on pizza I believe it is $8 but I cant be sure. The drinks will be on the sponser so all we expect you to do is bring that bubbly attitude and some dev knowledge to drop.
