The Adobe User Group of Atlanta September 2010 Meeting RSVP Jim DiVitale has been an Atlanta commercial advertising photographer and instructor for over 30 years, specializing in digital photography and computer photo illustration for advertising agencies and corporations nationwide. He is a PPA Master Photographer, Master of Electronic Imaging, Photographic Craftsman, Fellow of the American Society of Photographers, and a Canon “Explorer of Light.” As a member of National Association of Photoshop Professionals Instructor Dream Team since 1999, Jim writes the “Digital Capture Workshop” column for Photoshop User Magazine” that goes out to over 100 countries. Dean Velez presents After Effects Secrets! Please join Emmy award winning After Effects Guru Dean Velez as he shares some of his best broadcast Motion Graphics secrets. If you use After Effects in any broadcast context or want to, you’re bound to learn some new techniques and even some tools you didn’t know existed and have some fun along the way. About Dean Velez
Dean Velez has been working in the broadcast graphics industry for over 10 years and training professional artists for over 7 years. He has received 2 Emmy Awards, 7 Emmy Award nominations, worked for 2 network stations, 21 local news stations, and teaches college level Motion Graphics courses. The majority of his broadcast career was spent with Gannett Broadcasting. He was the Corporate Creative Director of Broadcast working with 21 television stations to create full broadcast packages for news, sports, programming and commercials. His client list includes ABC, NBC, CBS, UPN, The Tampa Bay Devil Rays, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, The Atlanta Braves, The Atlanta Falcons, The Washington Redskins, Toyota, Cartoon Network, The Georgia Aquarium, Univision Network, and FOX News Channel. While at Gannett Broadcasting Dean was responsible for training and evaluating the Motion Graphics departments of the individual stations. He became an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop, creating his own advanced courseware materials. Dean spread his information throughout the Motion Graphics industry and educational community through his well-known forum, The Motion Graphics Lab "formely The ANVEL". Dean has worked for Adobe Systems, Inc. as a Digital Video Collection Applications Engineer and was responsible for creating the background, synthetics and templates that are contained in Adobe After Effects 7. He is a sought after presenter and speaker for major broadcast conventions including NAB, Siggraph, Promax/BDA, WEVA and LEVA. Currently Dean works fulltime for his own studio The Motion Graphics Lab creating royalty free Motion Graphics Elements that can be customized for your own projects.

Adobe's Robert McDaniels presents Illustrator CS4!
The Topic:Adobe Illustrator CS4 has some fantastic new features; multiple art boards, the blob brush, new gradient tools and more, but that is only half the story. Illustrator also integrates into all kinds of workflows; web, print, and even video. Join us for an exciting look at great new ways to work in Illustrator, and how to leverage that work into other CS4 applications like Flash, InDesign, and After Effects. Even build AIR desktop applications. You’ll learn how to work faster with Illustrator and have a lot of fun too. Graphic designers, print specialists, Flash developers, and and video pros will all find something useful in this session. The Speaker: Robert McDanielsMr. McDaniels has held a variety of technical positions since joining Adobe in May of 2000. He has been an Applications Engineer, a Business Analyst, and a Senior Systems Engineer. In these roles he has supported Adobe’s web authoring tools, print publishing tools, digital video applications, and enterprise server solutions. In his current role as the Direct Technical Sales Manager, he works with Adobe’s direct sales team to meet with Adobe’s customers and help them find the software solutions they need for teaching, creativity, and productivity. He earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, and is a Creative Suites Master Certified Expert and a Certified Technical Trainer.
