A (hopeful) farewell to spam
A few minutes ago, I deleted the email accounts info@sierrammug.org and rsvp@sierrammug.org. Together, they accounted for something like 98% of my daily spam, while receiving close to zero legitimate traffic. We'll see what happens.
Adobe Now Offering Members 15% Discount
I'm happy to announce that Adobe is now offering user group members a 15% discount on purchases made in the Adobe store. This applies to any single order (which can contain multiple items) up to $10,000. It applies to full versions of new software such as Creative Suite 5, upgrades, books, and anything else on the site. To redeem the discount, go to http://www.adobe.com/go/cspartners and complete the form. In the "Association" field, type "user group", and in the validation code field, enter 72360. You will receive an email with a code to access the store in such a way as to reflect the discount. Please note: do not enter the name of our group - just enter "user group". Adobe is being very generous in extending this offer to us, and we need to not abuse it so that we will get more deals like this in the future, so please do not share this information with anyone outside of the group.
Adobe Touch Apps now available!
Late last night, Adobe released the Adobe Touch apps to the Android Market. If you were at the meeting earlier this month, you got a taste of what the apps can do. I for one can't wait to start playing with them!

Flex 4, Flash Builder 4 and ColdFusion Builder released
This morning, Adobe announced the release of the Flex 4 framework, and along with it the newly-rebranded Flash Builder 4, the IDE for building Flex applications. (It's the new version of the tool formerly known as Flex Builder.) Adobe also announced the release of ColdFusion Builder, a brand-new IDE for developing ColdFusion applications. You can read all about all of these new releases at http://www.adobe.com/flashplatform/. Flash Builder 4 and ColdFusion Builder can be purchased as a bundle for $299 if you currently own Flex Builder 3. Students, teachers and those recently laid-off from work, however, can get them for free (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/free/index.html). 60-day trials of Flash Builder and ColdFusion Builder are available as well. Of course, the Flex platform itself remains open-source and free.

Members, A lot has been happening over the last couple of weeks at Adobe, and I wanted to take a moment to share some of the news with you. P.S. My apologies for forgetting to send this to this list in the first place. :)
