Motion Graphic/Editor position 2

Contract work... may be followed with a full time offer from an international company based in North DFW.  Our products require a 'sports-channel-bumper', energy drink, action camera vibe.  I am a decision maker at a company that will be adding to their in-house video division.  I am a newby to the AE users group... so I apologize if this is not the direct avenue to call for demo reels and resumes.

Sound Problem 1

Hey guys,

I am new to After Effects, mostly a 3d guy but I like the idea of brining in my layers and enhancing and doing certain effects a lot faster.

Anyways this last project I did, I rendered it out to .mov and then my boss took addded sound and a title piece to it

Then asked me if I could export it to a flash version.  I said yes and did a test, worked fine.

But the sound came in wierd, fine in parts and garbled in others.

I made the file by bringning in the .mov file embedded  with sound to after effects   exported to flash and gave me the problem.

So after doing several other tries and messing with setting I just took the .mov and turned the sound off and added the original .mp3 file to the composite,  exported and that solved it for me.

Was this correct?  Was there an easier way?  Or is this a known problem and I am just nub?

Cinema 4D 2

I know this is an odd question for this board, and I'm a big After Effects guy, but do any Dallas people here use Cinema 4D?

I've been trying to meet local Dallas Cinema 4D people and C4D+AE go hand in hand if you're an animator.

AE MacPro Multiprocessor bottlenecks? 1

Hello,

I have a new 12-Core MacPro with 32GBs of ram, latest build as of today.

When I hit render with AE having multiprocessor enabled, it starts off extremely fast, then it seems that the Mac somehow bottlenecks and severely slows down but then after a few minutes, it starts racing again, then a few minutes later it slows down. 

It seems that some combination of the Mac with AE is not playing nice.  I tried to lower the cores to keep AE from staling, but nothing seems to help. 

Any suggestions?

Solid Bounding Boxes from AI

My first AE experience was the camp a week or so ago.

I got my AI file prepared with  se[rate groups on each layer and imported teh composition, but I only see black bounding boxes for each group.

Also, pasting in  paths from Ai only seems to create guides in AE

What am I doing wrong?

When importing a mov file with people shots from FCP to AE, then work with it and go back to FCP, the video loses quality, or resolution.  I'm hoping it's a simple setting. Anyone encountered this before?
