March 17th - FMS & OSMF User Groups Joint Session (2:00-3:00pm MST, 4:00-5:00pm EST) We are superbly excited to be combining forces for our March FMS User Group Meeting with the Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) User Group! Come join the Flash Media Server User Group and the OSMF User Group for a joint session taking a look at the technical and visual side of a real world project using the OSMF. This session will take a dive into actually using the new Adobe Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) to build an extensible and configurable player, and skinable UI. RealEyes Media developed a powerful sample player project called the REOPS (RealEyes OSMF Sample Player - http://code.google.com/p/reops/) . This isn't your grandma's sample player, and hello world has nutn' on us. This is a full-fledged player implementation, with external XML configuration, and one of the hottest extensible skining solutions around. The REOPS project was done for the community in conjunction with Adobe, and some slick UI designs from Juan Sanchez to get things rolling. David Hassoun from RealEyes Media will walk you through what the REOPS player can do, how it uses OSMF, and how to configure it, and Juan Sanchez from Effective UI and Scalenine.com will take you on a journey through the creative side of designing and applying the user interface from the skinning management solution of REOPS.
