We plan to skim off the best of the various resources out there, and mix in some of our own experience on the topic. Brad Magnus: What's new in After Effects CS6

Agenda:

I'm sure you all have heard that CS6 will be shipping soon! There are many sources online to see the lists of new features in Premiere and After Effects, but you can't exactly ask questions on how something works. We're gonna keep the presentations short on our top favorite new features that will really impact the way you work, and leave plenty of time for questions as well as leaving our machines available for you to play with the features yourself!

As an added bonus, if we can get a good turnout, at least 10 RSVP's I'll pick up some beer and snacks and make it a creative nerdout party!

Bullet Time Part 1 and 3D Extruder with iExpressions
Event posted on Feb 07 by bradmagnus

Title: Bullet Time Part 1 and 3D Extruder with iExpressions
Date and Time: February 21, 2012 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM (GMT-5 Eastern Time US & Canada)

RSVP

Address: 3119 Bristol Highway Suite 305 Johnson City, TN 37601
google map
Agenda:

Last meetup we had a very good suggestion for a meetup topic/experiment from Josh Hathaway. He proposed an idea of a group experiment in creating a bullet time effect, and Kyle and I are running with. Based on this video: http://youtu.be/cxxm87yjzbE

We need your help with this experiment. While any video device that records HD video would work, I think that the effect would be most effective if the footage blends together closely. For that reason we are looking to borrow up to 5 Canon DSLR's that record 60fps, specifically - 60D, 7D, T2i, T3i, 5D Mk II. If you own one of these cameras or can borrow one please let Kyle or I know (magnusbrad@gmail.com). In the first 20 minutes of the meetup, we are gonna record the footage. Wrangling all the footage and actually completing the project in one meetup isn't realistic, so we'll do part 2 of the topic in March.

Following the footage recording, I'll be presenting more plugins from AEscripts.com. This time I'll be presenting iExpressions and 3D Extruder. These two plugins are so powerful, I'll be using them together to demonstrate there capabilities, as well as general concepts of effective animation (that really just means that I'm still working on the presentation, and I don't know exactly how it's gonna turn out).

We're gonna have giveaways from FilmMakingWebinars.com as well as about $250 in prizes from AEscripts.com. You won't wann miss this meetup! Please RSVP, and let us know if you can help with a camera.

Color Correction In After Effects
Event posted on Oct 04 by bradmagnus

Title: Color Correction In After Effects
Date and Time: October 18, 2011 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM (GMT-5 Eastern Time US & Canada)

RSVP

Address: 3119 Bristol Highway Suite 305 Johnson City, TN 37601
google map
Agenda:

The most used and probably the most important effects you’ll find After Effects and Premiere Pro are those for color correction. Shooting a perfect video can be tough: conditions change, time can be crunched, and your trusting a 3" LCD for color and levels. But if we get it close, we can fix minor issues in post. This meetups topic of conversation will cover color matching footage between multiple cameras and HDSLR footage correction in After Effects

And, we'll be announcing the contest for the first giveaway of up to $2,100 of Adobe Software! You won't want to miss it.
