Name Ian Proudfoot
About Me After a career in Technical Illustration and Technical Publications management, I switched to SGML development. Developed the first commercially available FrameMaker+SGML application pack for the S1000D publications specification in 1996. During the next 5 years I worked as a senior SGML consultant for ESOFT and Mekon, specializing in SGML/XML systems for aerospace and defence. After an exteneded break from FrameMaker while I started, then sold a new publication software company I decided to return to the joys of FrameMaker development. The new venture, iTP-X, got off to a flying start with the development of Adobe’s FrameMaker Application Pack for S1000D. iTP-X now provides a range of development and training services for structured FrameMaker and tech pubs standards to customers around the world. After more than 30 years in the tech pubs business I have gained extensive knowledge of a wide range of technical publication standards. I'm a member of the S1000D Electronic Publications Working Group and have contributed to the ATA iSpec2200 specification. Other areas of expertise include SPL and eCTD for the pharmaceutical industry. I live my wife and three children in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight in the South of England.
