Dave Yang is a software developer, consultant, and founder of Quantumwave Interactive Inc. in Toronto, Canada.

He lives on the bleeding edge of technology, replacing band-aids once in awhile, figuring out newer and better solutions to solving problems for work and play. He finds balance while keeping his eyes on new horizons and directions, and tries not to fall too hard.

Professionally, he was the technical director and lead developer for companies in the U.S., Canada & Asia. He has developed mobile and rich internet applications, games, interactive kiosks, and commercial and eLearning software for organizations such as: Adobe, AOL, Art Gallery of Ontario, Discovery Channel, Disney, Google, Government of Canada, Kraft, McDonald's, NBA, Rogers Communications, SK Telesys, Verizon Wireless, YouTube and The Weather Channel.

Dave is a frequent speaker at conferences such as Adobe MAX, FITC, Flash Forward, IBM Blue Horizon, CFNorth, MXNorth, and Flash on the Beach on topics such as Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, ActionScript, Flash Lite and mobile development.

He occasionally gives guest lectures for post-graduate and new media students, and was technical editor for various software development books.

As a member of the Macromedia/Adobe Flash advisory board, he offers ideas on upcoming products and is humbled by many smart people.

His blog is named swfoo for the simple reason that it ends with the word FOO, even though it started off as an object-oriented resource blog for Flash developers.

Dave's latest projects involve mobile and devices, such as mobile phone user-interface, native device applications, iPhone/iPod Touch, electronic shopping cart, desktop internet devices, and other web-based applications.
