My background is on Software Engineering. I was one of those guys who hated the Flash Plaform ("it destroys the web, bla bla bla") until the day I had to use it (around 2002). After some lines of code I was shocked to realize the power of the platform. Ubiquity! Creating software accessible from everywhere - Rich Internet Applications! I felt that the future was there, and from that moment on I focused all my efforts on specializing on the development of RIAs on the Flash Platform.

My final graduation project, in 2005/2006 was the development of a Rich Internet Application using best practices from software engineering and open-source tools (OsFlash), blogged by Aral Balkan here: http://aralbalkan.com/617. After that, I've created Webfuel, at the time a small portuguese company targeted to the development of business solutions based on RIAs. We've come a long way and today we're using Flex to develop astonishing and innovative online banking solutions.

I am also the co-founder of RiaPT (the portuguese RIA community) along with João Fernandes and Kim Hansen, Adobe Certified Expert in Flex 3 with Air, and Adobe Community Expert.
