MAX 2008 was quite impressive. It was my first time being at any of Adobe’s conferences, and I was generally impressed with the sense of community that I felt from the experience. It was great to meet other designers and chat about tips and tricks, new software and projects that we work on, but the best thing was learning about new up and coming software and meeting the people that are actually on the development team for the software that we enjoy working with so much. Flash Catalyst was a major topic at the conference. If you haven’t heard of Flash Catalyst (formerly known as Thermo) I definitely suggest checking it out (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcatalyst/). This is new software that will bind the design abilities of Photoshop/Illustrator with the coding abilities of Flash/Flex. They handed out free pre-release copies of the software and said more would be available to the public sometime early next year. Also, great new technology that will allow video to be searchable, some new additions to Dreamweaver that will be helpful, and a whole arsenal of useful weapons in CS4! Lots to be excited about (if you’re an adobe geek!)
