Greetings. A little background - I have been working with computers for a while - 15 years or so as a tech, network admin and musician - building and using computers to record both audio and video. I would like to make the leap into programming. Specifically, I am interested in building RIAs that access databases to create music sites, photo sites and interactive rich media sites.
Where to start. Flex seems to be the best tool to accomplish what I wish - there is a ton of free resources to learn the environment. But there is a lot of stuff I don't know, and I'm not sure what path I should be taking.
So where do I start? Right off with Flex? PHP? Javascript? If you have any advice for somebody who is not specifcally a coder (I've done some, understand the prinicples, have done limited scripting) what would you suggest?
Thank you.
