      Title:
      Email Marketing - additional resource
      Content:

A BIG THANK YOU to MGM/Mirage's Ben Hubble for his behind-the-scenes look at email marketing. It's a big topic with lots of details to keep track of i.e. creative, approval process, list management, etc. I took plenty of notes including CampaignMonitor.com, 550x900 pixel size, importance of doing a text version, and that using tables instead of CSS is a more secure way to design the creative.

If he whetted your appetite for more information or if you have a sneaking suspicion that a client or employer will put you in charge of an email campaign simply because "you're the Web expert, right?", then you'll want to take a look at MediaPost.com., an online resource I find really useful for marketing, media and advertising types.

I subscribe to quite a few of their e-newsletters and "Email Insider" is one of them. Topics range from best practices, testing, writing content, list management, and even the best place to put that "respond now" button. It's more strategic ("big picture") than tactical ("how to") but it can really help give you a heads-up on things that can make the entire process easier and increase the chances of success.

Registration is required but it's free. Here's the full link: http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=Archives.showArchive&art_type=32

      Happy emailing!

    • Writing for Email Marketing is an art all to it's self.  I find reading other email newsletters is a great way to get new ideas and see other people approach to the marketing message.
