We're very excited to be a part of the ArtPrize spirit this month by having an open house at the ACTIVESITE location at 40 Monroe Ave! We plan to have a relaxed format of presenters giving short talks on inspiration, technology and the arts. ACTIVESITE is actually and entry in the ArtPrize competition! ACTIVESITE seeks to provide a catalyst for collaboration between the Art, Business, and Development communities of Grand Rapids; as a way of creating unique exhibition and promotional opportunities. From their entry description: 
  
"ACTIVESITE Artspace, will be a collaborative, interactive and experiential art event. It will include video projections, ice sculptures, music, food and drink, interactive graphic design, live t-shirt printing and much more. 
  
The concept presented in the 3-D rendering will be reconfigured and built specifically to fit a space and will include--multitiered exhibition and gathering spaces, video walls, bar and DJ booth, coffee bar, as well as areas for seating. 
  
We are also developing a schedule of activities/events which we'd like to host during the 16 days of ArtPrize--including such things as: artist talks, panel discussions, ice sculpture demonstration, fashion show, live music, and perhaps even a non-denominational gathering. 
  
ACTIVESITE Artspace, we believe, will create a unique ART experience for all who visit the space."
