Thanks to all who came out to SAA last night to hear me speak about print production. It's a topic that never seems to get the credit it deserves.
Remember, from the beginning think about the end.
There is usually very little time to button a file or files up and get them out the door. Rushing at this point doesn't make a lot of sense—building files correctly from the start will go a long way towards helping reduce the chance for errors.
Once you're ready to release files—I highly recommend following a checklist to make sure you've done your best to track down any troubles before they cause a problem. You can download the Electronic file release checklist here or via the link below.
This document is intended to serve as a general list of things to review and verify prior to releasing electronic files to vendors for outside services. For the best results you should always consult your vendor and adjust this checklist to their specific needs.
