      Rethinking MAX BOF (Birds Of a Feather) and MTT (Meet The Team)
      Entry:

      The MAX team has been re-thinking BOF and MTT sessions for MAX 2009 in Los Angeles. We are looking to make the Day 1 evening focus on MTT - Meet The Teams and move BOF -Birds Of a Feather into lunch all 3 days at MAX. Ideally this provides BOF sessions to be much more casual, enables larger attendance, and fosters the sharing of ideas more seamlessly at the event. In many ways MTT and BOF sessions were conflicting with each other and limiting who could participate. 

      We will be doing a call for BOF Sessions in the coming weeks. Around this change in logistics is an opportunity to create many smaller more focused BOF sessions.

      As with all things MAX I am very excited about this change. I feel it makes MAX a better event.

      I think that's a great idea!

      What kind of timeline do you envision for the lunchtime BOF -- 15, 30, 45 min?

      That could influence the discuss vs. demo decision of BOF topics.

      I think we were looking at each lunch as a full session of 60 minutes. This allows for attendees to devote the whole hour to a particular BOF. Having 3 separate days of lunches with all conference space available removes several barriers. So instead of 2 hour BOF windows that complete with MTT sessions, we have 2 hours of MTT on Day 1 and 3 hours of BOF at lunch during each day of MAX.
