I've been meaning to attend some of the group meetings for the past few years, but have not yet because 1) most of the meetings seem to be focused on ColdFusion or related technologies (no interest to me really, I work with C# .NET and webservices and have played with ColdFusion in the past) and 2) the times there were topics of interest to me, I had a conflict (bad luck I guess).
I'm more interested in Flash/Flex/Actionscript/Catalyst related topics - will there be some of those coming up? I'd be willing to present, but I'd like to attend a meeting first to get a feel for them. :)
Thanks - don't mean it as a criticism, just a question/comment.

As of this month, the Charlotte Flash users group has been folded into Adobe Charlotte, so I expect to see more Flash related talks coming from attendees.
I don't know Flash, so I can't present on it.
It DOES seem painful to sit through a presentation (about a ColdFusion framework) and not know what in the h they are talking about. But that is unfortunately the dues that have to be paid in order to volunteer your time to speak the next month. And the topic each month is only a part of the meeting. There's the introductions and the socializing afterwards as well.
I'm very pro us doing our own training. Yeah us! If we in Charlotte don't train each other, then we have to start going to the outside and bringing people in, which of course, costs $ for gas, possibly lodging, gratuities.
Not that I'm ungrateful for people within our own community! It's just that we can keep it a grass-roots club if we don't make demands on others. And don't forget that the person that REALLY benefits from a presentation is the presenter. For many reasons.
I'd love to see the meeting include Actionscript 3, which encompases Flash and Flex.
