Hey everyone
I'm a total newb to online stuff and I'm trying very hard to use the flash media server 3.5 to add streaming videos to my websites, but with little to no luck at all...
I can manage to get into media console but once there, I'm at a loss as to how to procede?
Unfortunately I don't undertsand any of the white papers designed to help with setting this up, and I think I may be in over my head here???
Is there anyway to explane this to me as if I where a 5th grader?
I have some very basic html knowlegde, but I need this simplified A LOT!
lol
A lil help Please?
thnx
Pam

Hi Pam,
Here is a good place to start:
FMS for the Absolute Beginner:
http://groups.adobe.com/posts/7d8b9e44f8
Then, I have some beginner-level presentations with examples here:
http://www.flashconnections.com/category/flash-media-server/
This should get you started.
Some questions to ask before you dive in, though... do you need streaming video or is progressive delivery sufficient? Do you need a custom player interface, or is a prebuilt player solution enough for you (e.g. http://flowplayer.org/ http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/flv-player/ etc.)?

Thanks so much Lisa Marie, I tried to downlod the zip files from the
FMS for Absolute Beginners
but was unable to open the files, I extracted them using winzip- but couldn't access them...
I'm gonna try and have a look at the other stuff when my baby girl goes for her nap this aft- there's just no hopping to make it stick with her playing here beside me
lol
thnx again
Pam
Hey Pam,
If you are still having issues I can help walk you through it. I am going to be at MAX next week but will probably have time near the end of the week if you still need it. Let me know if so.
David.
