The team is making lots of progress on Adobe Groups and there is still lots to do. We have been adding user groups starting yesterday and we have added 166 thus far and added 550 users in less than 14 hours. Great progress but more work to do.
Bugs:
1. We are seeing some login errors with pre-existing adobe.com cookies. The user will get a 404 when redirected to groups.adobe.com. This bug is being fixed.
2. We are also getting reports from folks that want to change their display name. Display names are managed on Adobe.com here.
Rollout Plan:
We will continue to add groups ongoing but the process is optional. Complete this form to add your User Groups to groups.adobe.com
It is a matter of time before word spreads about groups. Once we get Community Managers assigned to their group sites, we would like for everyone to spread the word about Adobe Groups to their communities. Ideally this slight delay will give us time to close down the bugs that exist and get content looking top notch.
We also want all Community Managers to customize their groups image. These elements are there for you to be creative and capture the essence of your user group. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the design.
Thanks for supporting Adobe Groups and please keep the feedback rolling in!
Thanks,
Ted Patrick
There are a ton of people involved, I have a small but visible role. I cannot say enough about the great job that the entire team has done on this project. Special kudos to Rachel Luxemburg, she is working magic here.
This is great. Excellent work C5X!
I can't wait to see my group on the list! Thanks.
Great work C5X!
Waiting to see my group in the list :)
Ted, I updated my display name on the Adobe site, but that change didn't carry over to here. Just an FYI...
Jeff, The display name changes occur when you login again. The data from Adobe.com Login is pulled over once per session. We are keeping a close eye on this issue.
Ted :)
Cool, I just signed out and signed back in and it worked like a charm. Thanks.
日本語でも大丈夫?あとで文字が化けたりしませんか?世界をカバーしているのでユニコードサポートは必須です。(testing comment in Japanese)
Nicely done Ted and all the team! I just had a blury profile pic when i tried to upload but I will have a look how to fix it :-)
日本語は大丈夫です!ユニコードを支持しています。このサイトではぼくはまだ文字化けを見たことがないです。いまのところでは日本語を書き込むことだけは大丈夫です。将来はUIも日本語にすることをめざしています。
Great Site, it looks really nice. One thing I would like to see is:
In the account settings you have fields to uplaod images or link to images, and a place for recent code snippets. What about links to video files and/or animations? Maybe they could be hosted elsewhere? Then I looked up at the comments in other languages and would love to be able to translate those somehow. I have some friends that can help with that. :)
great. Excellent workTed :)
Great job, thanks Ted, and thanks team...
but i can't wait to see my group on the list :-\
hey, doing a great job, the groups thing is really coming together.
Just a quick question, my group is now listed (UK aMaD), but i am not the manager yet, so don't have admin access. Any ideas of when we will get the admin access as can't wait to start getting the site sorted :)
Matt
I didn't get a 505 error this morning. Woohoo
Hi everyone, i just note that the america map has North America and South America, but i guess they are missing the central America area, because if the idea are divide America in two maybe they will be Anglo America and Latin America.
Regards
Hey team! this site is absolutly awesome! I love the easy and ability to customize the summary page, among other things. I do have two issues/bugs, however:
Also, is there any way to add some synergy between the new flex.org site and here? I would rather not have to post meeting announcements in 4 places (3 is plenty, thanks!)
Is there a reason why you have "welcome" in all the languages in the main page? (Welkom Mirë se vjen أهلاً و سهل Բարի գալուստ! Բարի՜ եկաք: Ghini vinit! Xoş gəlmişsiniz!)
It really takes up a lot of page real estate. Perhaps a simpler welcome would work just as well.
